Living in the Moment

My goal in life has always been to find the one thing that I’m truly good at. When I got to high school, I played two sports and had done two FFA contests. In my mind, I was either going to be very good at volleyball or basketball, and just do FFA to get out of school. During my freshman year, I got cut from the volleyball team simply because I wasn’t very good at it. I was allowed to practice with the team. I spent a lot of time that year on the court just practicing and warming up for games. When it came to basketball, I was a starter for JV, but the only thing going for me was the fact that I was tall. All throughout that year, I stuck with the plan of getting out of school for FFA. When I got to the end of that year, I got to go to our chapter's banquet. In this, I got all sorts of plaques that told me how well I did at the contests I was involved in.
